New styles of communication that move and shake people have been increasingly created and rapidly grown on the World Wide Web.
Based on this perspective, this award is our attempt to pursue possibility of the Web communication.
Nonetheless, it is not a competition over how precise your technique is or how new your idea is.
Such values easily grow obsolete as time goes - from yesterday to today, from today to tomorrow.
Rather, we are consistently concerned if it has quality of what communication essentially is – concerned if it “conveys something to someone” or if it “gives someone the push”.
There should be more and more people out there who bear new ideas.
Aiming at nothing but discovering and supporting such people who are full of potential, we have launched “1-click Award”.
Organizers: RECRUIT MMEDIA COMMUNICATIONS CO., LTD. and RECRUIT CO., LTD. Guardian Garden
Co-sponsor: Adobe Systems Incorporated
The followings are the outlines of this award. For more details, please refer to the Japanese website.
This award has two categories: Interactive Works and Thematic Proposals. The works that pass the initial selection will be shown at the exhibition “1-clidk Award Show”. The winning works will be selected at the open screening meeting to be held during the exhibition period.
Interactive Works category
We seek works that interact with mouse clicks (or other mouse actions such as mouse-overing or mouse-dragging, or other user actions such as key-inputting). The format of the work can vary – it can be flash animation, CG, movie, music, text, etc. You can choose your own theme as well. There is no limitation on the number of clicks it requires, but we anticipate works that are very simple yet can efficiently move and shake users’ hearts. The size and length can vary, too, from as small as only a few pixels to as big as the whole computer screen, from as short as a split second to as long as several minutes.

Thematic Proposals category
This category's theme is “new ways of Web-based communication”. We seek proposals of new communication ways utilizing the Web, based on the award’s principle: “simple ideas that shake the hearts of all”, same as the Interactive Works category. It can vary from a short-term content to a long-term promotion, from Web only to a cross-media activity. We wish this category would offer a platform for new ideas of communication unconstrained by convention.
There are two key points to be considered at the screening: if it is an idea that can move and shake people; if it can make new communication occur.

As for the Interactive Works category:
Please make your work viewable with Internet browsers and upload the file at any website. Then put the URL in the entry form for this category, which you can find below. We apologize that unfortunately the entry form is written only in Japanese, but applications from overseas are more than welcome.
*The work should be interactive with mouse actions such as clicks, mouse-overing or mouse-dragging, or user actions such as key-inputting.
*There is no limitation on what kind of website and how big it is, but please consider that we prefer works that do not put extremely heavy CPU load.
*Your work is planned to be screened with Windows XP SP2, Windows Media Player9, Flash Player9, Internet Explorer6, and QuickTime7.
As for Thematic Proposals category:
*Please submit a proposal in the form of PowerPoint file (A4, 5 pages or less, any style).
*Only proposals written in Japanese are acceptable.
*Attach the prescribed face sheet to your proposal and submit it through the entry form for this category.
*You can make the style of your proposal as you want. Images of your work that you may want to include do not necessarily show how the work will be precisely - rough sketches will do.
*Not maturity but interestingness, originality and novelty of your idea are to be considered.
*Each candidate who has passed the initial screening will have to give a 10-minute presentation at the second screening before the show.
